Hmm, that’s a puzzler! I just jumped on the Air Canada website to make a quick search, and I can see a number of flights starting at 10,000 Aeroplan miles each way. Perhaps there are no United flights available for your particular day? Or, perhaps your search toggle is still set to “CA$” instead of “Points.” Let me know if you still have trouble and I’ll email you screenshots.

Fyi I’m a newb at this… I dont understand how to use amex points to redeem a flight through the alaska airlines site. For example, I found a Qantas flight through the alaska site for 55000 miles. I have more than enough amex points. Now, since I cant transfer dirctly to alaska, how do I actually book it?

You would automatically be getting 1.2 cents a point for Hilton points. This doesn’t even address the big change in potential value of Marriott points since they raised up such a large amount of their hotels that were in the sweet spot for most travelers. Soon Marriott will also be at .06 cents a point. Just asking…..
